'Fruit Salad in a Glass Lampshade' Charity night is a success!

Money and awareness was raised for the Alzheimer's society last night, during Fruit Salad in a Glass Lampshade's charity fundraiser! More than £250 was raised at the event. 1st, 2nd and 3rd year LJMU drama students gathered together to perform and support the fundraiser. Kitty Lee Cooper and Caitlin O'Neill (Directors and writer of Fruit Salad in a Glass Lampshade) organised the event for their show along with Liz Barker, Lauren Hutchinson, Eviee Bowden, Ryan Byrne and Francis Chialton.
Acts included: Ryan Byrne with his acoustic comedy. Jacob the 'Juggler' Hart, a guest appearance from local established stand-up comedian 'Totally Ninja - Magic Dave' Dave Alnwick, Monolgoues from the cast of 'Fruit Salad in a Glass Lampshade' and 'Kev' (Meg Riley, Nikki Pritchard, Dom Davies, Nadia Bakir and Mark Lea), more stand up from alternative comedian Olly Leigh, acoustic performances from Todd Wilson, Siofra Mckeon-Carter, Melissa Stevens and Guitarist Chris, Poetry from Jamie Barton and Greg Kearns. To top it all off the event ans show organisers ended with an uplifting Beach Boys Medley sing-along from Kitty Lee Cooper and Caitlin O'Neill, and a heart-warming Beatles sing-along from Francis Chialton and Ryan Byrne.
Caitlin O'Neill (Director of the show) said: "We want to raise awareness as well as entertain. Working side by side with the Alzheimer's society has been very educational and their support of the show has been fantastic.”
All in all the event was a huge success, catch 'Fruit Salad in a Glass Lampshade' at the Joe H Makin centre on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th March, 7:30pm!
