Meet Bernie, an old working class man from a little village in the North East of England. He enjoys cups of tea and the daily crossword… when he remembers to switch the kettle on.
‘Fruit Salad in a Glass Lampshade’ is a tragic comedy which follows the day-to-day lives of Bernie and his wife Eileen, as they come to terms with Bernie‘s Alzheimer’s. Through visits from several eccentric characters and a bit of help from The Beach Boys ‘Fruit Salad’ takes you on a whirlwind journey through the ups and downs of life‘s challenges, whilst never leaving the kitchen! This warm-hearted story presents the importance of appreciating loved ones and the memories you share. There are some brilliantly witty and odd characters, sharing Bernie’s journey, although all may not be as it first seems.
